Frequently asked questions you may have about starting personal training:
HOW DO I KNOW IF THIS IS SUITABLE FOR ME?
After your initial inquiry I will send you a pre-screen participant form or invite you in for a chat so you can meet me and see the gym which you will be training in. On the form or in person I ask a few questions that allow me to get to know you and your history, both exercise, lifestyle and any injuries/illnesses you may have. We will then discuss any further questions or queries your or I may have. After that, once we are both happy we can arrange a date to start your first training session.
DOES IT MATTER IF I HAVE NEVER BEEN TO A GYM BEFORE?
No, not at all . I am here to help anyone of any exercise levels. I love coaching beginners.
HOW MANY TIMES PER WEEK SHOULD I TRAIN WITH YOU?
This is completely dependent on your goals. I recommend for beginners 2 x 1hr PT sessions per week. This allows us enough time to work on all movements and techniques at a quicker pace. However, you can see just as good results from 1 x PT session per week if it is complimented with additional workouts you do on your own.
WHAT HAPPENS DURING A PERSONAL TRAINING SESSION
A personal training session will last for one hour. This will follow along the lines of a warm-up/mobility work followed by your main training programme where you will focus on your goals using cardiovascular, strength or flexibility exercises. Finally there will be a cool down. Every programme will vary from one session to the next according to the clients' needs, progress and goals.
